OMGosh--it's time for my usual rant about how fast time is going by! Am I the only one who gets totally freaked out by this? I swear, I think something happened a week ago, and come to find out it was a month ago! Gheez. I don't like it! I was informed by my daughter yesterday--quite happily I might add--that there are only 15 school days left to the year! WHAT? It's just not possible.
My baby boy is ready to get his driving permit. He will be going through his driver's ed this summer (OMG--have you any idea how much this costs?--I was totally shocked and now, sadly, I have to sell one of my kidneys--which I am quite fond of and don't want to lose).
YESTERDAY
So....how was everyone's Mother's day?? Mine was so nice this year...I really feel cherished. The kids were so sweet to me and spoiled me rotten all day!
We went to church first thing in the morning, and they both dressed nicely (no jeans!) and sang along with me during mass (which I love!). Then they took me out to breakfast--and they paid! That's a pretty big deal for a couple of kids who don't have jobs or allowance. They actually asked their Dad for some extra chores the weekend before so they could make some money to take me out to eat. HOW SCHWEET IS THAT??
Then! they cleaned my car for me when we got home! Seriously, at the end of winter, when we start getting some warm days and the permafrost that has taken up residence in the carpetting starts to thaw, it begins to smell a bit like the lion's cage at the zoo in there. Ewww. Well, it's all clean and sparkly and Fabreezed in there now, what a pleasure!
Then Linds baked me some brownies with cream cheese frosting and Joe did up all the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. Mark came home from fishing and made a big dinner. Then to top it all off, I got an MP3 player as a gift (yeah!) which the kids took the time to load up ahead of time with all my favorite songs! So now I have some tunes to listen to on my walks. Am I spoiled or WHAT!
Well, that's my blab for the day. Now I have to go and get my wholesale order done....it's the one I started 2 weeks ago......(omg, has it been over a month?) Panic.

What a great day!!!!! Your kids are fantastic.
I really need to clean out the inside of my car...yikes.
p.s. sorry about your kidney : )
WOW, you really did get spoiled!!! Love the timeline of pictures, that's really how it feels.
Glad to know that you were treated like a queen! You deserve it! HUGS and love to you!!
What a perfect day! : D
No, you are not alone in thinking about how fast time flies. What a great day your kids made for you.
Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. By the way, my cat Heckle's birthday is coming up and he'll be 12 years ago. In the beginning, there were two orange kitties and we named them Heckle and Jeckle. Unfortunately, Jeckle had some respiratory problems and died several years ago. We really miss him, but Heckle has become quite used to being the only cat.
I love that you named your goldfish Heckle and Jeckle! :)))
What fabulous kids!
I don't want to think about how fast it goes. :(
Those kids are so very special! I know you enjoyed the day. And yes...I panic about time flying by also.
Waaaah!!! You make me cry, but in a great way. It goes by sooooo fast. Too fast. My little toddlers will one day be as strapping and terrific as your young adults (God willing), but I know it'll seem like just yesterday that they loved to fall asleep contented on my chest.
You've got a great family!!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your Mother's Day! Mine sucked, but my husband made it up to me on Tuesday with a cake from my favorite bakery that read, "Oops I blew it!!! Happy Belated Mother's Day" I forgave him and ate my gluttonous fill.
xox
Pssssst... You may want to check out my blog post yesterday!
Oh no!? That expensive. My son turns sixteen this summer. I haven't even looked into driver's training yet. I think I am trying to avoid the subject altogether. My baby can't possibly of driving age! Ack!!
You are blessed! I am glad to hear that you received as no doubt ordinarily you give out...holidays from it make it easier to give on the other days...
my son is almost 15 1/2 with absolutely no interest in driving...so my kidneys are safe...for now...and you SAID it about time flying...this school year was a mere blink of my eye...poof...and it's over...
I've decided to donate my kidney to you... ;)
I'm w/ you on time being on fast forward.
My kiddos are only 9 & 12 and I know it's all around the corner. The big changes. The pulling away. The trying out of their own wings. I feel like I've done a pretty good job thus far, but it sends shivers down my body when I get past the "when Zach gets his license" or "Meg goes on her first date" or "time to drive to your new college". Awwwww. Loved your sock monkey pic in the previous post too.
It struck me this morning too....OMG only 10 school days and Schoooools Out for Summer!!
Yep, I panic about time too but I've not got any kids to remind me quite so obviously! I always say - last time I looked at my watch, it was Xmas (or Easter or whatever!). Thanks for visiting my blog too :)
aww, your kids are so sweet! and cute! :)

oh yummm brownies with cream cheese frosting (:) glad you had a great Mothers day~!!
Me too ~~hugs Patty
No, you're not the only one... I am way freaked out by the growth of my children... And, it doesn't help when my 12-year old son grows 5 inches in 6 months and he's still growing! 6 months ago, he was looking up at me. Now, I am looking up at him. Even my baby son has been growing. I just want to shout FREEZE! And then I'll let them grow when I'm good and ready.
Your children have such sweet expressions. I love their eyes and smiles.
You are blessed!
