Hi peeps! Is this the craziest summer? Happily we just got over a couple of days of cooler weather with tons of rain...which we needed. It was so nice to finally get the house cooled down a bit. I went nuts...I felt so energized without all that heat weighing me down. Got my craft room straightened out, folded and put away that teetering stack of fabric and I am happy to say that I can once again see the top of my table! LOL I decided that I needed a little wallet to carry my business cards around in, and you know, as long as I was at it I had to make a few for the Etsy shop! So here are 2 different styles...Polky Dots and Retro. I made myself a dot one just cuz I am dotty for dots, and I love brown too. Stop by the shop and check them out if you want to know more or are interested in buying one. They aren't very expensive and just think of how classy you will look the next time you go to hand out one of your cards! (Also nice for storing all the cards that you have received that are floating around in your purse...c'mon, you know you have them! LOL).

Teeny cookie cutters turned into magnets

Check out these little cuties!! I ordered these from Su (icklebird) over at Prettyville on Etsy. Just got them in the mail today. They are just adorable. They are only around an inch or so big. I have a collection of cookie cutters in my kitchen so these look so cute on my fridge. She sent along a couple of special goodies for in the package...all packed so cute, it really made my day! Thanks Su. I think you should all go and check out her shop at Etsy, she is so very original and creative...and a super nice gal!

Everything's coming up Daisies

Yup...it just officially hit 100 degrees! In Duluth, MN! We are suffering so bad here, no one has air conditioning. It cooled down to 87 degrees in the house this morning. I called around to every store in town this morning and EVERYONE was sold out of air conditioners...Menards told me that they had sold 72 of them before noon today. LOL My daughter and I just went for a long car ride, just to cool off, and this huge rainstorm hit (we haven't had rain for a month, all the grass is yellow) with torrential downpours and hail! YeeeHah! What a day, LOL. I've been busy making more in the line of car trash bags...a couple of them are vintage-y looking, and I finished one this morning that is a little more manly with earth tone batiks and a really cool fish transfer. Click the pic and it will take you to my Flickr site or click here and visit my Etsy shop to see more of them. I will add pics here as I find the time. Thanks so much for stopping by and keep cool! Go down to the corner store and get yourself one of those giant Mr. Freeze's. I love the orange ones.

I saw the pic of this posted on her Flickr photostream and had to have it. I convo'd her on her Etsy shop site, she hadn't posted it yet, so being the very helpful woman that she is, she posted it, I bought it, and voila!, now I can wear it! If you haven't been to her shop yet...RUN! lol She has such lovely things and she is a really wonderful person. Go check out her shop, or for a real treat, check out her blog "Inspiration Comes Easy".

Pretty TRASH Bags? Whaaat!

Trash bags with personality. Tired of the standard black leather accessories for your car. I know I am. I am starting a line of trash bags for your car...with a little zing! This one is for the ladies, pretty in pink and brown toile, with a band of brown with pink polkadots grosgrain ribbon and a shiny pink button. It's lined with plastic so it won't get all glunky from your trash. This can be purchased from my Etsy shop. Thanks. Keep tuning in as I add more styles to this line...the next one is going to have a little vintage floral flair!.....

...and the dish ran away with...another couple dishes!

I've been busy embroidering again! I just finished this bagkeeper this morning. A cute vintage pattern featuring animated dishes hand embroidered onto white linen. I used a couple of different black and white prints and a repro vintage floral for the borders. I really love the way this one turned out! I think I'll get busy embroidering a couple other designs from this packet...they are so cute. These bagkeepers are fully lined and have no raw edges. I like to make them nice and roomy...and made to last. I got to thinking about different ways that you can use this...by the door for when you go to walk the dog, in the kids room so you have bags handy for stinky things (eww!), when you do craft fairs it would be a cute little thing to hang nearby to hold your bags, etc. I'm sure you could think of more things than I! If you are interested in this bagkeeper, or any of my other crafty goodness, please stop in at my Etsy shop. Have a great day!!!

Grapes and Hydrangeas Embroidered Bagkeeper

Hello all you gorgeous people out there!! I'm in a good mood today, the weather has cooled down a bit, finally, and it is Thursday, which is my favorite day of the week. I sold another item in my Etsy shop today and another item off the site. So slowly things are getting going. The best part of all of this is that I am meeting so many nice, crafty people...and I love that!! I had a gal order a bagkeeper from me just recently, and I got to thinking that maybe others might just want one of these that is a little more fashionable than the standard ones that are made from dish towels or just plain fabric. So I'm going to make up a few with some embroideries on them, in a couple styles...maybe another vintage one, or cottage style like the one in this picture. See how it goes. I did one with a vintage feel that had apples on it, and it sold almost as soon as I posted it in my Etsy shop...so that was fun! I went and looked through the transfers that I have and I think the next one will be with cartoonish dishes. Check back and see soon. If you would like to purchase this bagkeeper or any of my other items, just swing by my Etsy shop and look around. Make sure you stop in and visit some of the other fine artists and craftpeople while you are there! Bye for now...have a great day!

Sweetness

Sweetness

HI....hope this day is finding you all happy and healthy. I'm feeling pretty good today. It is a little cooler and less humid, which is really good for my arthritis. Yeah! I have been getting lost over on the Flickr site...so much goodness in one place. Between Etsy and Flickr it is a wonder I get any thing done at all. I've been working on this new collage, which I finished this morning. I found the cute little vintage butterfly on one of my treasure hunts, and it just made me think of the '50's... for some reason I was feeling "prom". So I went all out and did a pink prommy feeling collage, roses and pearls (faux pearls that is). It has a real feminine look, and is a nice little change of pace. I also added this vintage sparkle string that I had found too, you can't really see it in the pic to well, but it runs through the collage and adds a nice little sparkle to it. I think it turned out really sweet. This is offered for sale in my Etsy shop....pop in and say Hi. Don't forget to nose around at all the other fine shops while you are there, there is something for everyone! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Kitty Kat drawstring bag

Hello! Well, is it hot enough for ya? lol...that is what everyone is saying around here. Yes, it's true, it does get hot, even in northern Minnesota. I'm grateful to have a craft room down in the cool basement, it gives me incentive to go down there and get some work done. I just finished this cute drawstring bag this morning and managed to get it post in my Etsy shop today. This bag is built to last, and pretty cute if I do say so myself. I'm not really sure why the pic came up sideways..but you get the idea, right?! It is right side up and there are 3 more shots of it at Etsy, if you are curious. You all try and keep cool...you have my permission to go to Dairy Queen and get a big, cold sundae.

God Bless the USA!! And a special thanks to all those brave men and women who have made it possible for us to live free...God Bless them too!.

Flickr...my newest toy!

Happy 4th to all the Americans out there! Hope you all enjoy yourselves.... eat too much and drink some cold drinks in the hot sun and oooh and aaah over all the fireworks. Yeah! We have some relatives that live out in New England, who we rarely get to see, coming for a visit for a couple weeks...they should be here tomorrow morning. We are excited!

This week I have been getting my Flickr site going...and having a grand time doing it! One thing I have really been working on since opening the Etsy shop is trying to improve my photography skills. This flickr will help me with this too, I think. You don't want to put our crappy pictures when you have a lot of people looking at them, for sure! I can already see some improvements. It also helps that there are so many helpful tips on the Etsy forums about this subject, which I try to read on a regular basis and make sure I put the tips into use. If you would like to check out what I have up on the Flickr, please feel free to stop in and leave a comment or two. Now the next step is to figure out how to connect the flickr to this blog...i guess you can do that too! LOL Oh my poor head!
Well that's it for now...I guess I should go and scrub the toilets...we have company coming! *lol* Have fun everyone.
