Cool Paper Storage Idea!

I have something new in my studio.....

I ran across this vintage metal ALBUM rack (for you youngsters, go ask your parents what an album is! lol It's kinda like a giant CD!) It is is beautiful shape and I love the lines of it....and it dawned on me that it just might work down in my craftroom! I have been struggling to find a the perfect way to store my big papers so that I can see them and they are readily available for use.....So........

I just LOVE how my big 12" x 12" paper pads fit into the album slots! I have the pads set on edge so I can just thumb through them to find the papers I want or to inspire me on my next project.

Plus, now I have some additional shelves on my work table to hold lots of other supplies! I love it...I get to re-use an otherwise rather obsolete piece of furniture and get some excellent new storage out of it!

So, go out and rescue an old piece of furniture today and see what excellent new uses you can get out of it! I'd love to see what you have done, so if you have a cool find or re-do of an old furniture piece, link me up in the comments here, I'd love to see them!

This is GroggyFroggy. I'm signed in on Patrick's account and don't want to sign him out. lol I love this idea. I guess now you'll have to buy new stuff for the shelves on your table. hehe

I rescued a little cabinet that my neighbor was throwing away. It now holds my fabric and fits perfectly between the refrigerator and my sewing desk. I'll have to get a pic.

And to make a long comment even longer, lol, I was just thinking of you because I was moving stuff around and found your little paper birdie on the fridge. I put a ribbon through it and tied it to a little vase and now it sits on the shelf over my sewing desk. :)

I want one of THOSE! I am in a huge transition right now. I'm trying to get my home office moved into one of the spare bedrooms but right in the middle of that, the consignment shop that I belong to is closing. I must pick up my inventory TODAY. Where to put it?

Sending smiles,
Teresa

What a great idea to repurpose old record racks. I do indeed remember them but had forgotten all about racks like this. Gosh, I'm getting old.

What a great idea. I bought an old sewing machine chest that I am using for storage in my craft room. I won't show the inside though because I just crammed it all in there. LOL I love the idea of using an album storage cart for the papers. Mine are all in a drawer and I have to dig through them to find the one I want.

I love it and I'm pretty sure my aunt or someone had that exact record rack.
