Sweltering in MN

OMGosh--it is so hot! groan. We live in MN--it is not supposed to be like this, LOL!!!!! Do I have to move to Alaska? or Siberia? the top of Everest?? Menopausal women cannot handle this sh**! :-) I think we are supposed to get a little cool down tomorrow night--yeah!

It's been too hot to even cook in the house--so tonight I decided to put some Cheddarwurst out on the grill. Seriously people, I am not a good bbq-er. I am really a very good cook indoors, but the grill is not my forte. At all. Well, I put them on the grill, I went in and got my salad all ready, and went out to check on them.... the grill was a blazing inferno and my poor little wurst were burnt to a crisp! Way, way burnt. Into the garbage they went.

I haven't been doing too much lately. I did make up a pretty cute Goody bag with aquas and teals and brown --don't you just love that polka dot bag?? It's listed in my Etsy shop.AND I did up a couple of new cell phone pouches. I've added batting to these so they will protect your phone or other gadgets from getting bumped around. I call this one "Music in the Key of Lime", lol. I really like the bright green with the black and white--pretty striking.

And then I did this one today--"Swirling in the Pink"--a little more subdued!

It is near impossible to be inside and outside preparing supper at the same time. I have done the same thing as you, Karen.
Don't be too hard on yourself.
I was thinking about your grilled delights with watering mouth though at the beginning of the story anyway.

I feel your pain with the heat - my studio is on the top floor of the house and warm?? blah! (esp. when I have the iron on - that REALLY heats the place up!)

How can you put those supplies in the shop - they're all so cute!

Josh does the grilling/bbq in our house. When I want to do it - I use a grill pan!

Keep cool, Sis!

You are completely unable of making something "not cute", aren't you? :P All of this is sooooo darling! I'm going to have to head back to your shop and check things out.

HUGS!

I haven't been here in awhile! I've had fun reading backwards and catching up:)
I can help you master the grill if you can fill me in on using the sewing machine...

Thanks Amy--it helps that I'm not the only one to screw up cooking on the grill! lol

Oh yeah Jenn--those darn irons! lol I hope you have a good fan up there. You know, I DO have a hard time parting with some of the stuff--but I'm trying really hard to get over it! Hmmmm--sounds like I need to get me a grill pan!
Thanks sis!

Thanks Danielle--doesn't the heat get to you--you know...in your "condition"? :-) And thanks for the compliment! that DOES help, a lot!

Thanks Vanna--so glad you stopped by!

Hugs to you Pinky! You are so sweet! So do you actually have a couple minutes off to play on your computer?!!

shabbyinthecity--glad you came by! It's a deal--come and give me some grilling lessons and I'd be very happy to give you some sewing ones! Yup!

The heat outside does make us miserable for sure, and add to that the heat on the inside of me...that bonfire that begins on the inside of me without warning...oh goodness gracious -
my head almost begins dripping just thinking about it. Stay cool Karen. Try to stay cool. (And I MUST agree with Pinky...you can't make something that isn't cute. And Jenn M. can't either by the way.)

Those pouches are really cute. Love that they look like mini totes, lol.

I've never BBQ'd, so I feel your pain.

Sorry about the heat over there. It's been pretty good in Northern California, I must say. I HATE hot weather. My sewing room is the hottest room in our house. eugh

I definitely don't do alot of cooking during hot weather (actually, come to think of it, I don't do alot of cooking! LOL) Love the cell phone holders - great idea! Saves them from getting all scarred up in your handbag.
